Recover deleted events from Samsung S5 calendar app?

I hit 'sync now' in the Samsung S5 calendar app thinking it would upload all of my events to the Google calendar and it promptly deleted months worth of events I had entered into my phone. Is there any way I can recover those deleted events?. I have tried: Looking online, pressing sync now again, restarting the phone, adding and subtracting different calendars on my list, looking through the settings and help. I think it was caused by: I think it erased all the locally entered data because Samsung calendar app has a problem communicating with Google calendar - it can read but can't upload for some reason. Unfortunately, I didn't know that before hitting 'sync now' and hadn't created a Samsung account yet.

Unfortunately information that is deleted from a Samsung calendar cannot be retrieve unless you have backed up your calendar events on the SD card or on your laptop or desktop on a program like Kies. You might also want to make sure that your Samsung calendar is set to "Show Events"; make sure that there are no filters hiding events on the Google calendar that you are syncing from as well.

Hello, I followed the steps to automatically backup and restore my data on my Galaxy S5 onto Google servers. Several weeks later, I activated a replacement S5. My apps were all loaded onto the new phone; however, NONE of the data from my apps was brought over to it. How do I retrieve the data? Thank you.
