How to run the safe mode for a Chines Android smartphone?
I want to run the smartphone in the safe mode, but once I power it up using the safe mode protocol, all I get is a menu in Chinese! I have tried: pressing the power and the volume-down buttons but getting a Chinese menu that I cannot read. I think it was caused by: a virus or malware
This is not a virus: you will need to find a correct key combination to boot into the safe mode. For Android 4.1 and above, power up the smartphone. Then, press and hold the power button. Then, tap and hold "Power: off" until a pop-up message appears. Tap on "OK" to reboot in the safe mode.
For Android below 4.1, turn off your smartphone. Turn on the smartphone by pressing and holding the power button again. Release the power button once it vibrates. When you see a logotype appear during booting, press and hold both volume buttons together. Continue holding the two buttons until the device boots up.
Also, if you see some unknown Chinese hieroglyphs, you can use http://ce.linedict.com/dict.html#/cnen/. Just click the pen icon at the top and start drawing to find out what a certain hieroglyph means.
