One thing you want to do if you're traveling with your guitar is have a guitar case. You can have a hard case or a soft case like this. It's better if it's waterproof because that will help to prevent rain damage if you get caught in a thunderstorm.

The guitar I have right now is an old battered guitar, it's my travel guitar. At home, I have several very expensive guitars and I like to keep them in good condition.
