Do you have an Xbox one and Ryse: Son of Rome game that you just purchased and you also need a walkthrough to beat the chapters in the game? Or, are you still planning to buy the game and want to learn the controls in advance and guide for you to do a speed run from the first four chapters. So stop searching the internet as this is lucky day to find a game guide for the chapter 1 to chapter 4 of the game. This game guide that I made for all gamers out there will help you out to beat the game flawlessly in chapter 1 to 4 and other chapters will be posted as well to a separate article but will be linked. Chapter I

This will be the start of the game after the cutscene of Augustus where he asks for help. You will have your first control of "Marius" who is the protagonist of the game where you will encounter a short tutorial of the battle system which whenever you see a pausing like sequence, you need to match the color of the buttons from your Xbox one's action buttons. Inside the castle, enemies are no longer neutral where they are more aggressive than normal now then go to the next door and kill the enemies there and get ready for parrying their attacks and watch for the enemies that may jump on you from behind.

After battling those enemies, you will see there a "Barbarian Warlord", the area will be surrounded by fire and you will only have a very limited space during the fight. This fight maybe difficult if you do not know when to attack and hit the enemy, what you need to do is to wait for the moment when he is about to swing his weapon. Once he does that, you need to move using the left stick then press the B to roll away from it. Once Marius gets up, quickly go near him and land a couple of attacks to damage. Repeat this strategy until you see the execution icon over his head then press the execution button to end the fight and to successfully end the chapter 1.

Chapter II

The beginning of chapter II is a little of a sparring with old pappy. This is much like a continuation of the tutorial during Chapter 1, this is only an exhibition of the battle system to get more used to it which teaches you to a refined combat system. Just follow the instructions from Marius dad on how you can deflect or parry and enemies attack. Marius's dad will also teach you on how you can break and enemies guard and land a perfect hit when the defence got broken. The clue for the perfect hit is when the enemies body turns green and after the sparring, both of you will encounter some barbarians. You can start to apply the skills you learned from Marius's dad by beating those enemies, after you beat them, you need to follow Marius's dad going to courtyard. There will be a short cutscene and an "Achievement" will be unlocked after, continue following your dad and there will be more barbarians along the way. From here on, you will learn the "Focus" ability, to use the focus, you need to press the RB that will slow the time for you to land multiple hits to an enemy. Also, you will learn the perks and it is best that you play with it and switch if you find it necessary too.

While moving through the city, watch for some objects that has blue cloths as this indicates a climbable base which you can loot some items like golds and collectibles. As you proceed, you will find there a dead body that is in green that you can examine to get the "Letter from the past". It is best that you look for glowing things in green as you can get collectible items with it to learn Roman History. You will also find some items for projectiles, these projectiles do not need any more explanation as it can be learned once you get them. Once you reached the bridge, you will then find your father waiting for you to lower the bridge, just turn around and climb up to look for the rope that keeping the bridge up. Use the projectiles to throw at it then go back near to the bridge where you will see a cart that you need to push.

To interact with the cart, press Y since it will be highlighted in color yellow, do not forget to smash some vases to get some experience. And once you reached the beach line, it will be the end of chapter II.

Chapter III

Once you reached the beach, go to the ruined ship nearby and on the other side of it to get your objective. Your first objective is to reach the tower to lower down the chain in the harbor, continue moving through the ruined ship till you can drop and to encounter some enemies to battle and fight them. You will also see here a meter to how many Romans you keep alive and heavy attack will be introduced and continue heading forward until you see some archers who will then start firing arrows towards you.

Whenever they fire at you, press the A button on your controller to deflect them to avoid getting hit and to toss those arrows at them or simply run and ignore and keep on running till you reach the tower. You will then see there a flag where you need to press the A button to get your troops into formation to block incoming arrows from the archers then move forward. Go inside the tower and grab the projectiles that you found and fight all the enemies you found in the tower. There will be waves of enemies here, so it is best that you to prepare, kill them to maintain your numbers, you can destroy the woods at the counter weights and continue to perish all enemies you see.

You will see here some Barbarians who are using Axe and behave the same Warlord in the first chapter. The tactic is the same and whenever you see his body highlighted in red, you need to roll out to avoid his attack, although some of his attacks can be parried but it is best to roll away instead. Then head out to go to the other beach and fight the barbarians that you encounter again and kill their archers first. You will see there a barricade that you can climb and start attacking the archers from the rooftop and order your troops to fire the volley, just shout "FIRE VOLLEY!". After this attack, you will get two options on how you can fight the next wave of enemies, either fight the Barbarians on ground or focus on the archers. You can choose any of the options that you are good at

Once you have killed all the enemies, move forward with your troops to the next location and you will find there a catapult tower and kill the Barbarians along the way. This time, you can ignore the archers and deal with the melee first. After the event, go to the tower then kill all the archers who are on the bridge then go up the stairs to reach the top of the catapult tower. As you approach the top of the tower, kill all Barbarians and use the Kinect voice command again to use the catapult and the volley, just shout loud the "CATAPULT FIRE!" also "FIRE VOLLEY!". Once you have slaughtered all the enemies, Chapter III will now end and a cut scene will be played.

Chapter IV

After the event in the beach, move down the ravine then kill enemies again then go to the narrow area where you can see some nasty looking dead bodies, once you see an RS on screen, push it and Marius will start on talking and listen to it. After this scene, you will see some traps that you need to press A to deflect those then head to the woods till you reach the river. Once you reached the river, go to the right side where you can see a log in the water for you to cross and again, there will be enemies for you to kill till you reached the aqueduct.

Once you reached the aqueduct, you need to use the lift to get in the higher ground, you need to look for the weights and kick them to move the lift. Once you reached the location, there will be new enemies that you encounter. These enemies have two weapons using at the same time that can attack you in fast move, to beat these guys you need to use the focus and attack them to move forward. Once you reached the boss in this location where you will need to fight "Princess Boudica" and same strategy can be applied when you fought the "Barbarian Warlord".

Once you beat the princess, she will then call all her men to kill you and as usual, kill them first. You will see some projectiles on the ground that you can grab then you will see there some explosive barrels and throw projectiles to kill all enemies just yell again to use the kinect, just yell "CHARGE!" then drop to the ground and help your troops in the battle to win against the barbarians. After all the enemies have been defeated, move along with your troops to the "King Oswald" throne then kill all his guards to watch a cut-scene. This will be the end of the Chapter IV
