Play Gloria Victis Online Player vs Player for Windows 8
Edited by Grimm, Rushell, Eng
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to enter and play the Gloria Victis online Player versus Player game for your Windows 8 computer. To get started in this, we will need to have already logged into the interface and created a charter, which we've discussed in previous tutorials.
Once we've done that, move the mouse cursor down to the bottom of the screen and click the center "Play" button.
It is located between the "Create new character" and "Log off" buttons at the bottom.
One click on "Play" will launch the game.
It may take a minute for the load screens and everything else to process, but once this happens we will be in the game.
Once we've entered the game, there will be a series of quick tutorials.
The first one is a tutorial which will show us all of the different things we can do or click on.
We'll close it for now by clicking on the "x" in the top right corner.
The other is a small window featuring "Movement and basics".
We can click on the arrows at the bottom to view the different basic movements.
The right mouse button allows the character to look around.
We can look very slowly or quickly. However, looking quickly can blur the screen. This is a new feature from one of the newer graphics engines.
Let's close the "Movement and basics" tutorial window by clicking on the "x" at the top right corner.
We'll give a quick overview of what's happening.
This game uses the standard W, A, S, D movement keys. D moves us to the right, and A moves us to the left. Use W to move forward and S to move backward. Holding down the right mouse button allows us to look around, look up and look down. Pressing the space bar lets us jump. The CapsLock button lets us walk. If we press CapsLock again, we'll run.
If we hold Shift, we'll run very fast.
This drains stamina, which we can see in the top left corner of the screen.
Once we're outside of a town, we are fair game.
Any monster or player can attack us.
The first thing we should do is start harvesting everything we find, such as this tree.
Double click, and our character will start chopping away at the wood.
If we press I to reveal our inventory, we'll note that when he finishes, some wood will appear there.
Now, we have some sawdust and five logs.
We can craft, which we'll demonstrate in one of our other tutorials. For now, we're just getting started and into the game.
By pressing M we can see the map.
The map is quite large.
We are currently on the far right side of the map where the arrow is pointing to the town of "Mareley".
On the left is the town of "Dunfen", where our enemies are.
There are little flags here and there.
If we put our cursor near a flag, it will reveal the flag's owner, "Flag is possessed by Izmirs", for example.
Toward the middle of the map, we'll see, "Flag is possessed by Midlanders", who are from the town of Dunfen.
They are our enemies.
Press M to close the map.
Now, we can run around and play for a little bit, which we will discuss in another tutorial on playing, attacking and crafting.
There's also an arena option on the right side of the screen.
On the top left we have our hit points on the red line.
Stamina points is on the green line.
In the future when they add magic classes, we'll have that on the bottom line. One the most important things to keep in mind with this game is that it is currently in a playable beta state. What that means is that for a very small donation, we can play the game as much as we want online. It works well and plays well, especially for Player versus Player, attacking, etc. However, sometimes there are problems. If we run into a problem, if our character gets stuck, such as we can't walk through a set of doors, we'll have to log out and log back in.
Sometimes, or example let's take the case of these doors.
We'll try and walk in.
Unfortunately, we are unable to walk through the doors.
We tried again and got in.
Now, can we run back out?
There we go, and we're back out.
Sometimes we might have a problem getting through doors. It's just the state of a game in beta, but this game has quite a bit of promise. We aren't playing it on the highest settings at the moment. However, when playing it at the highest settings, note that this game really offers a lot. We can also 2-handed or 1-handed weapons. This will be discussed in another tutorial on weapons as well.
For now, this concludes our tutorial on getting started playing the Gloria Victis online game for the first time.
We hope you'll stay with us and see some of our other videos, such as how to attack, how to defend, how to stun, and all that other great stuff. As ever, thanks for choosing VisiHow. Have a great day and hopefully, we'll see you again.
