Pixelated screen on Samsung Galaxy S5 after dropping?

My phone was dropped and now has a pixelated screen. I have managed to get onto my background once my pressing a random combination of buttons but the touchscreen wasn't responding and neither were the buttons.. I have read other suggestions of resetting the phone but if I can avoid that then that would be brilliant although I would prefer resetting over having to buy a new phone. At the top of the screen, there looks as though there may be some water damage but I'm not sure. I guess it is to do with the cabling alignment but you can probably tell me more on this issue
