You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to demonstrate how to do a factory reset on the iPhone 6s Plus.
First, go to the home screen by pressing the home button.
In "Settings", tap on "General".
At the bottom of the "General" menu, tap on the "Reset" menu.
In the "Reset" menu there are several options:
- "Reset All Settings";
- "Erase All Content and Settings";
- "Reset Network Settings";
- "Reset Keyboard Dictionary";
- "Reset Home Screen Layout";
- "Reset Location & Privacy".
Tap on the most comprehensive option, "Erase All Content and Settings".
This is what you do if you want to erase your phone before giving it to someone else or selling it. The phone will warn you that this operation will delete all of the media and data and reset all of the settings.
Tap on "Erase iPhone".
You will get another message reading "Are sure you want to continue? All media, data, and settings will be erased. This cannot be undone."
Tap on "Erase iPhone" again.
Now you will be asked for your Apple ID Password.
Then, tap on "Erase".
The phone is resetting now. Your phone will reboot and end up in the same condition as it was shipped from the factory.
