You are watching VisiHow. I am going to show you how to open and read a book in iBooks on the iPhone 6.
To begin, simply unlock your phone by pressing the lock button on the right side of the phone.
Alternatively, press the home button below the screen, which is what I tend to do.
This will bring up the lock screen, where you can swipe right to have the option to enter your pass-code (if you have security restrictions enabled) or use your fingerprint on the home button (if you have that option enabled).
I generally like to keep my applications in different folders.
For example, I have a "Social" media folder, a "Travel" folder, and a "Utilities" folder. My iBooks is in my "Other" folder.
Basically, I keep this folder for more practical applications like the calculator and compass, which I personally do not use very often.
My iBooks is in here as well. The icon for iBooks is an orange square with a small open book logotype inside. Simply press on it once.
Pressing the iBooks icon will either open the library or the last page that you were reading.
At the moment, let's click on "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka.
Here, I have a few other books that I am reading.
E-books will be shown in your library only if you have them downloaded into your library.
To learn how to download e-books, you can refer to our other video where we explain how to do this by using iTunes. To read the article, go to http://visihow.com/Download_an_eBook_from_the_iTunes_Store_on_iPhone_6
. In this case, iBooks has taken me immediately to the last page that I had open. This is because I bookmarked it, as you can see by the red flag in the top right-hand corner.
To remove the bookmark, just tap this flag once; and you will see that it is no longer red.
However, I don't want to lose my page, so I am going to keep it bookmarked.
As you read, you can scroll through as if you are turning the pages in a book.
If you manage to lose your page as you are scrolling through, you can click on the three lines in the top right corner.
In the table of contents, iBooks will give you the option to choose one of the pages on which you were.
So, for example, in this book we have the discussion of short stories, novels and letters because of the way the book is structured.
The table of contents may vary depending on the book. Anyway, we press "Resume."
It takes us back to the page on which we were previously.
That is how you will open and read a book in iBooks on the iPhone 6. I hope that you have enjoyed the video. If you have any recommendations or comments, please put in the section below. You have been watching VisiHow. Thank you!

Questions and Answers
My iBooks seems to be skipping ahead a sentence or word or two when I turn a page .. I have tried: There aren't a lot of options.
- If you own an older iPhone, then you can tap and hold the iBooks application. Tap on the cross in the corner of the icon to uninstall it. Then, go to App Store and reinstall iBooks or open this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ibooks/id364709193?mt=8.
- If you own a newer iPhone, then you might want to back up your data with iTunes on your computer. Open iTunes and click the phone icon at the top. Click "Back Up Now". Click "Restore iPhone..." Perform the factory reset. Then, click "Restore Backup..." in iTunes to restore the iPhone.
- If nothing helps, you can enable scrolling instead of turning pages. Open iBooks and a book. Tap on the icon with letters at the top. Tap on "Scrolling View" to enable it.
- If you have problems with any of these steps, ask a question for more help, or post in the comments section below.
