...thanks, in advance

As I understand your question, whenever you plugin the phone to your computer it is not being recognized by the Windows 8 computer as a device. You have also have reset the phone to factory, but it is still the same and says that it is not being recognized.

We all know that the Windows 8 Operating system is just new in the market and only few supported drivers can be installed. One possible reason that your phone was manufactured before the released of Windows 8. What you can do is check the phone if it has an update to install, specifically a Firmware update since that includes drivers for latest operating systems.

Another reason could be your USB port on the computer. Try to connect the phone to a different USB port to verify if its working or not and try also use a different USB cord to see if it works. Also, try to connect your phone to a different computer or Laptop and see if its being recognized. You may also try to connect to a different computer with a different operating system to see if it is just a problem with the operating system.

Another reason could be with your securities on the computer, such as firewall and Antivirus. You may need to turn those off to see if they are the reason your phone is not being recognized on the computer. If this is a work computer, it would be difficult to handle as most companies install their own security software which you cannot modify.

One more thing to try is shutting down the computer, restarting and trying it again. This obviously a very simple solution and probably something you've tried already, but sometimes things get stuck on the operating system and it may just need to reboot in order to establish a connection.

Go through each of the options above to try to pinpoint which specific problem it is having. If all else fails, you may need to contact the store or Samsung for them to verify this problem or have the phone replaced or even repaired if that is necessary.

Are you using Samsung's Kies software to make the transfer? If you are, make sure you are using version 3 from the website here:

http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

You will need the newer version for your Note3 that's running Android 4.3 and/or above operating system. Once installed, you can connect it to your Windows 7 PC using the supplied USB cable to make your file transfer.

Phone not being recognize:

Try another USB port. It may turn out to be obvious that all your USB ports are working fine, but for isolation only try the other ports on your computer and see if your phone will be recognized by the computer or not. You can also restart your computer then boot in safe mode and check if it will be recognized

There are some instance that your computer firewall or your computer's Anti-virus would block external devices to be detected as they think that it may cause problems on your computer (Which is not). Try to disable the Firewall on your computer and the Anti-Virus

Another possible reason why the phone is not being detected is due to the phone's USB cord may not be working fine, try another USB cord and see if the phone is being detected. Also, when you first plug the phone in the computer it will automatically install drivers on your computer. Once you connect the phone, wait for a couple of seconds or a minute.

If the said suggestions above did not recognize your phone still. Try to connect the phone to another computer. Try to connect the phone to another Windows 7 or 8 and even Vista too, this is for you to determine if it's a phone issue or a computer issue. If you have another computer whether a PC or Laptop or know someone that you ask just for isolation then do so to resolve this.

Using card reader:

This is only applicable if your photos are in the external card or SD card. You can purchase this small piece of a hardware from any electronic store. Wirelessly transferring files:

There is an application that you can install on your phone and your computer. This is called WiFi File Transfer, this application is only capable of transferring 5Mb and below for the free version and if you have larger than that said limit then you may need to purchase the full version. Also, this is only applicable if you have WiFi at home as both devices must be connected to the same network (Using hotspot may or may not work at all) since its using IP address and port to transfer, process is like FTP.

How do I transfer my photos from my Laptop to my phone?

Can't figure out how to transfer my photos from my computer to my phone

The easiest option to do this is to use Dropbox. Install Dropbox on both your computer and phone. For your computer, you can actually access Dropbox from its site but it is always faster to just have it in your computer. Drag the files that you'd like to transfer onto your Dropbox. From your phone, open the Dropbox app and then get the files from there.

How to transfer from Note3 SD card to PC?

Transferred only partial initially now nothing

The easiest is just to use an SD card adapter so that you can just plug it into your computer and copy the files like you would when you insert a USB. SD card adapters are usually not expensive. Basically, as soon as you have plugged it into your computer, it will be able to detect it as another drive.

How to download all info from Samsung Note3 to desktop safely?

I have an iPhone 4S and can easily download every thing on phone from text, voice messages, to photos onto my desktop. My wife has a Samsung Note3 and wants to do the same as we have some important text and voice mails relating to some real estate transactions that must be saved. It doesn't seem to be as easy with Samsung as with apple to safely get all information without causing problems with phone or missing information altogether

Syncing contacts from Samsung Galaxy Note3 to Windows 8.1 PC People App?

Hi, yes please! I've connected my contacts on Samsung Galaxy Note3 via Google to the people app in Windows 8.1 - all good on that front. However, I've added a contact to the people app on my laptop and it doesn't appear to sync or update on my phone. Is there a sync option in people app, or on Samsung Galaxy Note3 that I've not been able to find? There doesn't seem to be any way to update between the two?
