Questions and Answers

My new Samsung Galaxy S5 won't recognize my SD cards?

It keeps saying Mount SD card, then gives a blank message, then prompts me for reformatting. No solution. In trying to move things to the SD card, it says I don't have one in.

Some Samsung Galaxy S5 owners have reported issues with Sandisk SD cards. In addition, Android Kit Kat (the version of Android that your Samsung Galaxy S5 is running) has stripped a lot of SD card functionality from your device. Some users even report that none of their SD cards work in their Android devices anymore. To troubleshoot this issue, turn your phone off, take out and reinsert your SD card, and turn your phone back on. If it still doesn't work, try another brand of SD card to see if the one you currently have is defective or simply incompatible with your Samsung Galaxy S5. If it's still not working, your phone may no longer be compatible with SD cards. Contact Samsung's customer service line to troubleshoot the problem with a customer service representative. They may be able to give you further steps to take to remedy your issue.
