My phone is still locked after I enter my legit Gmail account how can I unlock it?

When I tried too many attempts my phone switched to the verification of my Gmail after I had logged in with my Gmail my phone was still locked how can I unlock it?

Unlocking with Gmail only works if your device is connected to a network at the time that you try to authenticate. If you aren't connected, it won't work. It sounds like you'll need to reset your device to factory default settings to be able to regain access. It's a drag, but at least you won't lose the device you paid good money for.
