If you've already tried to repair the hosts file on your computer but iTunes is still showing Error 3194 when you try to update your Apple iPhone 4, then your next step is to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes onto your computer to make sure you're using the latest version. Click here to download and install the latest version of iTunes. Once it has installed, plug your iPhone 4 back into your computer and try to download the update again. If you're still unable to update your phone through iTunes, you will need to disable your antivirus/security software to allow iTunes to try to connect to Apple's servers. If you are still unable to download the update, follow these steps in order to try to make sure your router isn't preventing you from downloading the update: plug your computer directly into your modem and restart both your computer and your modem. If you are still unable to download the update after you attempt to through a direct connection to your modem, you will then need to either bring your laptop to another wireless network, or use iTunes on a desktop computer belonging to a friend or relative. After you've updated your phone, contact your ISP (internet service provider) to ask about your service disruptions and to get your connection fixed so you can update your Apple iPhone 4 through iTunes without getting Error 3194.
