A deep burgundy is on trend as a highlight color and compliments warm skin tones wonderfully. It is a dark rich color that adds a bit of sass to a hair cut. Your stylist can blend browns, burgundy, and blondes together to make a stunning highlight look.

I have auburn hair and lighten up my roots which are darker and add red highlights throughout my hair using a cinnamon and tea method. I use chamomile tea but black or green tea would work just as well. Steep a tea bag in boiling hot water and wait until the water completely cools before removing the tea bag for maximum concentration. Add two tablespoon of cinnamon powder to the cool tea water. At this stage, you can add honey or an egg white if you like which will both give you extra shine. Run the tea rinse through your hair and let the mixture sit in your hair for 30 minutes. You can rinse after 30 minutes and shampoo or do another round of the tea if you want lighter highlights before you shampoo. To keep the highlights, add cinnamon to your regular daily conditioner. I usually leave my conditioner on for at least 3 minutes and the cinnamon in my conditioner boosts my highlights.
