I updated to Kit Kat 4.4.2 & now the mobile data quick setting button is no longer available. Is there a way to get that back?

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to get the quick setting button back in your Galaxy S4's 4.4.2 Kit Kat update. However, you can install an application like the Data Enabler Widget application that will allow you to quickly turn off and on your mobile data from your home screen. Simply install the application, find the widget in your Widgets list, and drag it to the place you want it on your home screen. When you want to toggle your mobile data, just tap the icon and it'll turn off or on.

Wondering if mobile data icon can be reinserted into quick menu on Galaxy S3?

Wondering if mobile data icon can be reinserted into quick menu on Galaxy S3

The "Mobile Data" icon might be reinserted. If the tutorial did not help you, then follow one of our tutorials on how to edit the quick-setting panel (it works on some Android versions):

You may also wish to flash another ROM to your smartphone in order to enable the "Mobile Data" icon as shown in the tutorials above. To do that, reflash your smartphone (click this to read how) by picking the appropriate ROM file (non-4.2.2) for step 1.

In the Kitkat update, the "Mobile Data" button has been moved to "Apps" > "Settings" > "More settings" > "Mobile networks" > "Mobile data". This means that it cannot be seen in the quick panel anymore. To circumvent this inconvenience, you can install Power Toggles, which will allow you to put the mobile data icon into the notification bar or onto a home screen.
