Mini HDMI / Android phone settings?

Connecting HDMI mini phone to TV

Ad

Your phone would have to have some sort of screen sharing capability within the device. This can be called Screencast, Screen Mirror, Miracast or another name like simply Cast from within your phone settings. You would then follow the process explained in the main VisiHow article in bold at the top of this page. You may not need an MHL for your HDMI mini cable but if you enable the function from within your Settings>Display and nothing appears on the TV in the HDMI function screen then you probably need an MHL cable.

Do all Android phones support this function?

I have a Panasonic p55 novo. Can I connect this to an LCD TV

Your device does not support Screen Mirroring. This usually means that it does not have HDMI out even with MHL and an HDMI cable. But you could still try and see. As of now you could also see if you could put the Chromecast app on and then purchase a Chromecast device. You should contact Chromecast first to make sure it will work on your Panasonic P55.

My screen is broken and I need to connect with MHL to HDMI?

My screen is broken on my Note3 (LCD black, touch works) and I have a MHL dock for the Note3, but it does not stream the screen to the TV. The dock shows that it is charging and that OTG is available. Any ideas?. I have tried: Connecting to Kies, doesn't work since the device is locked (pattern). I think it was caused by: A drop.

It is locked. This is why you can't get it to connect to the TV just like with Kies. When the Note3 is locked the USB gets locked down as well. Try using Samsung's Find My Mobile to remotely unlock your phone. Then you would be able to connect it to the TV and Kies.

What setting do I put my TV on to see what is on my phone

After connecting your television set to your smartphone, you will need to take the remote control of the television set and locate the "Source" button, the "Input" button, or a picture of a square and an arrow pointing into it. Press one of those (it depends on your television set) to choose an HDMI input. Please note that there might be several HDMI inputs, and you will need to select the proper one. Use the arrows to navigate the menu items and "Enter" or "OK" to select them. If you do not have the remote control, the television set might have similar buttons as well. Refer to the user manual of your television set to learn more.
