Manually Back Up WhatsApp Chats on HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng, Anonymous
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to manually back up a WhatsApp chat on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.
We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen.
There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.
Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the WhatsApp application.
There is a WhatsApp icon, which is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside, and underneath it says "WhatsApp". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.
We now need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
There are three small white dots in a vertical line.
Tap on the option labeled "Back up chats".
This is going to allow us to manually back up chats. It's going to save them just in case there's a problem with the phone or application so that we won't lose our information. Backing up regularly will help to keep our data secure.
It will say "Backing up messages", "Creating a backup on your internal storage.
Daily backups occur at 4:00 am." There's a daily back up, but we can also do it manually.
This concludes the tutorial on how to manually back up a WhatsApp chat on an HTC One M8.
