Set Secure Folders Lock Type

    On the home screen, swipe up to access the device's app drawer.

    If it is correct, tap "CONFIRM". If the account info is wrong, change it by going back into settings, then the accounts section.

    Once you've confirmed that your Samsung account is correct, it's time to choose the SECURE FOLDER LOCK TYPE

    For this tutorial, we selected Pin, but you're free to choose whichever you prefer. You also have the option to use biometrics (iris or fingerprint scanning) as your lock type. These methods also require that a pattern, pin, or password is set for the lock screen.

    To set the SECURE FOLDER PIN, enter a numeric code and tap "Continue

    Enter the same Pin again to confirm it, then tap "OK".

Add Apps, Add Files and Edit Apps

    Go to your app drawer and tap the "Secure Folder" icon.

    On the Secure Folder screen you'll notice some default apps and four icons at the top of the screen.

    The first icon is a lock

    Tap this at any time to lock the Secure Folder. You'll have to use your pattern, pin, or password to get back in.

    Tap it to choose any applications that you want to be added to Secure Folder.

    Select an app by tapping the circle next to, then tap "ADD" in the upper right corner

    Once an application is added, you'll see it displayed in Secure Folder.

    Tap it, then browse to a location within your device's internal storage.

    First, tap "My Files" to gain access to your device's storage.

    Browse to the file or files you wish to move out, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner, followed by "Move out of Secure Folder". Now those files will be accessible normally without having to enter a pattern, pin, or password.

Customize Secure Folder icon, Auto lock settings, and Show/Hide folder

    While inside Secure Folder, tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner, then tap "Customize icon".

    Here you can rename Secure Folder, as well as choose a different icon to represent it

    Tap "APPLY" to finalize your changes.

    To edit Secure Folder's Auto lock options, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, followed by "Settings".

    On the SECURE FOLDER SETTINGS screen, tap "Auto lock Secure Folder"

    When the options pop-up appears, select a time interval. Choosing "Immediately" will make you log in every time. Selecting "When phone restarts" will allow access without having to enter your pattern, pin, or password until the phone restarts.

    While still on the SECURE FOLDER SETTINGS screen, toggle the switch next to "Show Secure Folder" to show or hide it. If you hide Secure Folder, you have to go back to Settings > Lock screen and security > Secure Folder to make it visible again.

Reset Secure Folder lock pattern, pin, or password

    If you forget your pattern, pin, or password, tap "FORGOT PIN" on the sign in lock screen

    A pop-up box will appear telling you to sign in to your Samsung account. Tap "RESET" to continue.
