The Google Pixel and Pixel XL makes accessing your notifications and quick settings a breeze. The notification panel is very helpful for organizing critical updates and happenings on your device, such as; missed calls or texts, application updates, in-app notifications, power and battery information, etc. You can also configure which apps will display notifications in both pull-down panel and your lock screen. We'll also show you how to enable notifications lights, which by default, are disabled when the device is shipped.

The quick settings panel sits directly above your notifications and displays relevant settings and features such as screen brightness, WiFi, data, sounds, all of which can be edited and rearranged to suit your preferences. You can add the settings that you access most frequently, saving having to go directly into the device's main settings area.

Notification Panel

    To access your notifications, swipe down from the upper edge of your screen.

    Any notifications you have will be displayed with the most recent at the bottom of the list

    Tap a notification to access the app or setting it's associated with.

    To wipe your notifications, tap "CLEAR ALL".

    To clear a notification from the lock screen, swipe from left-to-right or right-to-left.

    From the home screen, tap or swipe up from the little arrow to access your app drawer.

    To enable or disable the Pulse notification light, toggle the switch on or off.

    While still on the Configure notifications screen, tap "On the lock screen" to set whether notifications get displayed on your lock screen.

    To adjust a specific app's notification settings, tap an app from the main notifications screen.

    On the app's notification settings screen, there are three options to select from; Block all, Show silently, and Override Do No Disturb.

    To access your Quick settings, swipe down from the top edge of your screen.

    To expand your Quick settings, tap the little arrow in the top right corner.

    Tap the pencil icon to edit or rearrange your Quick setting icons.

    You can also access your main settings by tapping the gear or switch users by tapping the user icon.

    To add or remove an icon, just tap and drag it from either your current icons or your available icons.

    If at anytime you wish to go back to the default settings, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner, followed by "RESET".
