MY Galaxy EXPRESS 3, put in SIM get message; NO SIM CARD?

My phone doesn't have two slots for the microSD card and the SIM card - only one where I slide the SIM, still get NO SIM message. I have tried: Turned phone off 3 times, removed SIM and replaced, same message "NO SIM". I think it was caused by: CLUELESS - NEW PHONE TO REPLACE OLD WHICH STOPPED
