Questions and Answers

Locked out of my Google account, says sign in using prompt in the notification bar and press a number. But I never set a notification! Why or how would this happen and can I get back into my account?

My S5 signed me out of my Google account and I can't remember my password but when I try signing in it gives me instructions to pull notification bar and follow prompts to unlock my S5 to sign in, unfortunately, I don't ever get the notification and it says "prompt couldn't reach your device". My phone itself is not locked, I have access to my Samsung account and details but everything associated with my Gmail is blocked, when I try opening hangouts or my Gmail it sends me to a "sign into your Google to get the most out of your device" page. When I go to account recovery steps it says you were not signed in because Google can not verify this is your account. I have tried: I've cleared cookies, and cache, reboot, recovery, disabled apps, and wiped my search history as instructed by a Google forum. I think it was caused by: Well I wasn't having any issues until my screen cracked after that it would shut off, restart, get hot not long before this, it had only signed me out of my hangouts, but it wasn't near as frustrating as this.
