Samsung uses a number of factories to manufacture its Galaxy Tab Android tablets. Since that is the case, it is hard to discern an original Galaxy Tab from a fake one based on its location alone. However, you can use the steps in the great VisiHow article below to identify any potential problems with your Galaxy Tab that would be present if it were a cloned device. You should also do the following:

  • Open your Settings application.
  • Navigate to About device.
  • Tap Status.
  • Write down the IMEI and Serial numbers.

Once you've written down the IMEI and Serial numbers, call Samsung's customer support and give them the two numbers. The customer service representative will then check the numbers against Samsung's servers to make sure that they are there. If the numbers match up with Samsung's numbers, the device is genuine. If they don't, however, the device is fake.
