Questions and Answers

Is my Toshiba Satellite P55W-5220 motherboard dead?

The laptop does not power on and does not respond to soft or hard reset of the power cycle. The only indicator light that displays is the charger light when plugged in. It displays as fully charged.

With this particular Toshiba, you can't remove the battery but this sounds more like a charger/battery situation which is common with this device. Disconnect the charger and leave the lid open. Let this system die from dead battery. Then plug it back in. Hopefully, this is your issue. Check all the power sources before you jump to replacing the motherboard. If you do not have a spare cord that will fit, take it to a store or repair shop and ask them to test the power sources.
