Install the Inner Tube of a Bike Wheel
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng, Jen M
Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. Today I'm going to show you how to install the inner tube of a touring bike or mountain bike.
- 4It's important to ensure the valve is in correctly, because if any rubber is trapped, it's possible the rubber around the valve can split once the inner tube is inflated. To check this, we can push the inner tube in and out with the valve. If it does this with no problems, it is in properly.Lift up the tire and make sure the valve is in.
- 5Do this all the way around so that the inner tube is fully in the tire without any creases and without being twisted. This will prevent any problems in the future. You can see in the photo that my inner tube is twisted. So now I need to take out my valve and inner tube to make sure it goes in without any kinks or creases. When you are done, place the valve back into the valve hole and push the inner tube back into the tire. With both hands, push the inner tube into the tire.
