You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we are going to demonstrate how to sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program.
Then, we sign up with our Apple ID by clicking "Sign up"
Once we sign up, the site will ask us to accept the agreement
We make sure that we read the entire agreement. We can read it in Chinese. We can click either "Accept" or "Decline".
Once we've clicked "Accept", the site will give us some general information on the beta versions available
The default is the "OS X" beta, which is "OS X El Capitan". We can also find out some information on "iOS" 9 beta as well.
From the page, we can click "Enroll Your Devices"
The first step is to "Archive an iOS backup with iTunes"
We click the button to get the instructions for archiving. We are going to demonstrate how to archive an iOS backup with iTunes. This is a step that is necessary when we are using beta software.
We make sure that we are using the latest version of iTunes
We open iTunes and click "iTunes" and "Check for Updates..." In this video, iTunes will inform us that the latest version is used.
We click on the phone icon in iTunes
iTunes is going to ask us if we want to back up the applications that are not in the iTunes library.
We can click "Back Up Apps"
After the information has been finished being backed up, we click "iTunes"
We click "Preferences..."
We right-click the iPhone in the list
Having successfully backed up the iOS data, it's time for the next step.
The site will ask for our iTunes ID and password
Then, we can tap "Sign in"
Now, we tap "Download profile"
From the "Install Profile" menu, we tap "Install"
We type in the passcode for the phone
Then, we tap the "Install" button
Restarting will be required.
We tap the "Restart" button
After the phone is restarted, we tap "Settings"
We tap "Software Update"
From "Software Update", we can tap "iOS 9 Public Beta 3"
In this video, it will take about 11 minutes to download the iOS release.
Once the download has been finished, iPhone will say that a software update will be available for our phone
We can tap "Details" or "Close"
Either way, we will get to the "Install Now" button.
iPhone will ask for the password
We enter it.
iPhone will show additional Terms and Conditions that we should read
Then, we can tap "Disagree" or "Agree"
We tap "Agree" in the lower right-hand corner.
We tap "Agree" again in the pop-up window
The phone will reboot once more. It's a lengthy installation, but it is up and running now.
We swipe the first screen to the right
The iPhone will say, "Update Completed," and, "Your iPhone was updated successfully. There are just a few more steps to follow, and then you're done!"
In this tutorial, iPhone will say, "To finish setting up iCloud, enter the Apple ID password for firstname.lastname@example.org."
If we use iCloud, we enter our iCloud password
The iPhone will explain: "To help Apple improve its products and services, pre-release versions of iOS automatically send diagnostics and usage data. This can be changed in Privacy settings. Diagnostic data may include location."
The iPhone will read: "Help app developers improve their apps by choosing to share your app activity and crash data with them through Apple."
We tap "Share with App Developers"
The iPhone will read, "Welcome to iPhone".
Everything will look almost the same as it did before. If we lock the phone, we will have the same lock-screen wallpaper.
The iPhone will show that we are using the version 9.0 and that the beta is installed.
