Install and Setup Temple Run for the iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, Zack, Eng, Siti Tamaky
You're watching VisiHow. Today, we're going to show you how to set up the Temple Run game on the iPhone 6.
Let's start off by pressing the Lock screen button one time.
It's located on the side of your phone.
Swipe across the lock screen, or use one of your beautiful thumbs (or other security method) to unlock it.
What we're looking for now is the App Store.
It's the blue box icon with a white circle and white A. Let's give that a tap. That's going to open up the App Store for us.
What we're going to do now is search for Temple Run.
Tap the Search icon at the bottom.
Then tap on the search field at the top and type in "Temple Run." You can see our search for Temple Run brought up Temple Run 2, Temple Run, and Temple Run Brave.
We've got guides for how to setup all three of these. We're going to start with Temple Run.
If you've never downloaded it before, you should have the option to click Get.
Tapping Get one time will then give you the option to Install. If you've previously downloaded it, you'll have the Install option. And if it's already installed on your phone as is my case, then you'll just have the option to open it.
I'm going to tap Open.
This has opened up Temple Run!
You've got a selection of five menu options over here:
Objectives, Stats, Store, Options, and More Games. The only ones that we are particularly concerned about are the Objectives and the Store. Let's tap Objectives.
Here, each time you complete one of these, you get that objective checked off.
For example, if you ran 500 meters you're a novice runner. If you collect 100 coins, you've got pocket change. Get 2500 points and guess what, you are an adventurer.
And let's go to the Store, which is the link here.
When you tap on the Store, you can get more coins if you would like to by spending real money.
If you are interested in spending real money for this, you are absolutely welcome to. This is how you do it. Just tap the amount you want to buy and sign in with your iTunes or iStore credentials, and there you go!
For the rest of us poor folks like me, what we need to do is earn enough money to get those power-ups.
We have several available power-ups: the 50 Coin power-up, Coin Magnet, Invisibility, 250 Meter Boost, and Double Value Coins after 1500 metres. These are power-ups. These are the things that appear as you're running along, and you can jump up, slide or do whatever is necessary to catch them and get that ability.
Next on the list are our utilities.
Utilities are a little different from power-ups. You have the: Angel Wings, Resurrection Wings, Boost Ahead 1000 Meters at the start of the game (and another one that lets you go 2500 meters).
Then you have the characters.
There's a general rule: There isn't anything particularly special about the characters. They don't do anything better or different than any of the others.
Then you have wallpapers.
You can get the Temple Wallpaper for 5000 coins, the Guy Dangerous Wallpaper, and you can get the Evil Demon Monkey Wallpaper (my personal favorite).
Now we're going to tap the Back button to go back.
I'm just going to give you a quick view of the options and then I'll show you how to play.
We're going to tap Play.
Monkeys are going to try to eat us. We're also going to have the tutorial because I have the tutorial turned on.
Swipe to turn left or right.
Swipe downwards to slide.
Tilt to collect coins and avoid falling down giant holes.
If you bump into something, then the monkeys will get you.
I now have the option to go to Store, to view Top Scores, Share to show how amazing I am, or to get more coins.
Let's go to Top Scores to see what our Temple Run highest score is.
My Temple Run highest score is two million. The rest of the people are in the five million area. Let's get out of here because it hurts my feelings a bit to see how terrible I really am.
Let's go back to our Main Menu.
Now let's tap our Objectives and see if I got any of these objectives out of the way.
Unfortunately, I did not.
If I go to the Store, you can see that I now have 108 coins of the required 250 to unlock the first power-up.
Let's press on the Home button.
For those of you unfamiliar with how to close an application, double press Home and close Temple Run and the App Store.
This concludes our tutorial on downloading, installing and setting up Temple Run on the iPhone 6, and also a bit on how to play.
Hopefully, you'll have hours and hours of fun playing this game. We look forward to seeing you on our future tutorials. Let us know if you have a game or anything else you need specific tips about, and we'll do our best to get back to you on that. Thanks, and as ever, have a great day!
