You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show how to install an aftermarket battery grip on a Canon 650D (or T4i, as it is known in the U.S.).
To begin, let's prepare the battery pack by pushing the battery magazine latch outward.
Then, turn the battery magazine latch in a counterclockwise direction and pull it outward.
This will reveal the battery pack.
Make sure that you have two freshly charged batteries.
Put them into the magazine.
Slide the batteries back into the case.
Turn the battery magazine latch in a clockwise direction.
Then, push the latch back in to make sure it is flush with the rest of the battery grip again.
To prepare the camera, open up the battery compartment cover.
Push the battery compartment release lever down and pull the cover out.
Then, press on the little indent at the side of the battery to release it and pull it out.
The battery compartment cover does get in the way of the battery grip.
To remove the battery compartment cover, put it at about a 45-degree angle from the closed position.
Then, pull the battery compartment cover outward.
It will come off. Set it to the side.
Next, put the arm of the battery grip into the battery opening.
Slide the battery grip all the way in.
There is also a mounting screw that needs to be turned in the clockwise direction to tighten it.
It is located between the camera body and the battery grip.
That was how to install an external battery grip on the Canon T4i, or 650D. Please be sure to see our next tutorial on how to use buttons on the battery grip. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the space below. Thanks for watching VisiHow!
