Hi, You're watching VisiHow. This is a video tutorial on How To Increase Internal Memory. I would like to thank emotion Li for the awesome video on How to Increase Internal Memory on an Android. I organized it into a wiki for anyone with a hearing impairment, or for those who just prefer to read the steps. Hope you enjoy it.
Clearing the cache is a way to increase internal memory, to get to this option first you would need to tap on settings
In the settings menu, tap on Manage apps
The memory will be freed on your device
Moving Application to your SD card can also help to Increase Internal Memory.
To get to this option, tap on settings
Go to Manage Apps in the settings menu
Select an application that you would like to move to your SD card
Select Move to SD card in order to free up internal memory on your device
You will see that your application has moved to your SD card and is no longer located in your internal memory.
Not all applications can be transferred to your SD card so do not worry if some applications do not offer this option
Clearing your History on your device can help to increase internal memory as well, to start you will need to tap on your menu button on your device
You will see all the application that are currently running in the background on your device
The memory used by these applications will be presented at the top of the screen
In order to clear the applications, you can either swipe right on the application window
Also, at the bottom of the left it is possible to tap the brush icon to clear all applications at once
Choosing a different default storage can also help to free up internal memory.
To start tap on settings
Select storage from the settings menu
Tap on Default Storage Location
Tap on SD card in order to have applications saved to your SD card instead of your Internal memory to help free up storage space on your Internal Memory
A message will prompt explaining that your SD card will currently be used as a default storage
Uninstalling Unwanted Applications can help to also increase Internal Storage space.
To begin tap on settings
Choose an application from the menu
Tap on Uninstall, to uninstall the application and free up memory space
Disabling applications can help to free up Internal memory without having to uninstall the application from your device, to begin tap on the menu button on your device
Locate the application you wish to disable from the list
Press and hold on the application
Here you will see the option to disable the application in order to clear up memory
The last option you can use to free up memory is by uploading videos and pictures to the internet to free up space.
To begin tap on gallery
Tap on the pictures and videos you wish to upload
Tap on the share button (highlighted in blue at the top of the screen on the right)
From here you can choose to upload the pictures and video to your Gmail, Bluetooth, DNLA, Messaging or Social Media platforms so that you can free up space on your device by sending them somewhere other having them remain stored on your device
