Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to turn On and Off the option to improve harmful application detection on an HTC One M8.
To begin, turn the phone On by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen; swipe the screen upwards to unlock the phone
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen and at the bottom, we will see these icons
It is one of these icons that we now need to access as we need to access as we need to open up the applications folder.
To open the applications folder, we need to press down on this icon located in the bottom center of the screen
The icons is a grid made up of white dots.
In the applications folder, we need to find and press on the Google Settings application
Mine is located here. The icon is a gray cog with the Google "g" inside and underneath, it says the word "Google Settings". Your Google Settings application may be in a different position in this folder; therefore, you will need to find it and once you have found it, tap on it to enter.
We have the word "Google Settings" at the top of this menu
We need to scroll down almost to the bottom and press on the word "Security" which will open a new menu
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and we will see the "Improve harmful app detection", "Send unknown apps to Google for better detection"
Right now, this option is activated because the icon on the right is turquoise.
If we want to deactivate this option and if we don't want to sent unknown applications to Google, then we can do that by pressing down on the icon
The icon will turn gray and that means the option has been deactivated.
If we want to activate the option and we want to send unknown apps to Google for better detection, then we can press down on this icon until it is turquoise again and that means that this option has been activated
This concludes our tutorial on how to turn On and Off the option to improve the harmful app detection on an HTC One M8
