Import a Backup file to your WordPress site

    Log in to your WordPress website.

    On the left hand side of your Dashboard, go to the "Tools" tab.

    After pointing your mouse on the Tools tab, click on the "Import" option.

    Once here, click on the option that reads WordPress:
    Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories and tags from a WordPress export file.

    Once you select the WordPress option, you should be brought to a screen that looks like this:

    Click on the "Browse" button and locate your backup file within one of your folders.

    Select your backup and click "Open".

    Click on "Upload File and Import".

    Once you click on the Upload File and Import option, you should be brought to a screen that looks like this:

    Assign posts to an existing user by clicking on the "Dropdown" box and selecting your login username.
