If I damage my vocal cords, will they heal?

So I was basically screaming a song, and I couldn't reach a note. I looked up how to reach higher notes, and it said not to scream or you will damage your vocal cords. There are many other things that can damage them, but will they heal?

Your vocal cords can be damaged just like any other part of your body, and screaming is one of the best ways to cause that damage. Screaming to reach a note is terrible advice. It's like telling someone to pick up something which his or her back (which is also terrible advice). Fortunately it's rare to damage your voice from a single session of screaming. This means your vocal cords will probably heal.

Can children damage vocal chords?

My music teacher at school has refused to let me teach my class (7 years olds) frozen let it go because she said it is too high for them and might permanently damage their vocal chords. We are doing a school production of Disney classics. Any ideas if she is right?

My vocal cords are irritated, why?

Yesterday after singing really loud and belting I noticed it felt as if my tonsils and when I sing not even very high, it starts to feel scratchy and hurts a bit. Do you know what the problem may be? I wouldn't understand if I damaged my voice because I sing like this all the time and even higher. Do you think you may know?. I have tried: Vocal rest, trying to not talk. I think it was caused by: I think maybe accidentally pulling a throat muscle from singing, if that is even possible. I'm not sure.
