I want to reset everything but my music and contacts?

My device goes very slow so I want to reset it.

First, make sure that your device is logged into a Google account. If you've ever downloaded an app from the Play Store, your device is already logged into a Google account. If not, follow these steps:

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

  • Open your Settings application.
  • Tap Accounts.
  • Tap Add Account.
  • Tap Google account.
  • Sign in with a Google account to which you know the details. If you need to sign up for a Google account, you can do that here.
  • Now go to your Contacts application.
  • Tap your Menu key, located in the lower left-hand corner of your device.
  • Tap Backup.
Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

Your contacts will now be backed up to your Google account.

As for your music, you can only backup files that you've purchased and downloaded onto the device. If you use a subscription service like Spotify, Google Play Music, Beats Music, or Radio, your music will already be synced to your account and you won't lose it when you perform a Factory Reset. To backup files that you've purchased and downloaded, do the following:

Now that your contacts and music are backed up, you can begin the Factory Reset process. Since you are able to get into your phone's Settings application, follow the steps below to perform a Factory Reset:

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

  • Open your Settings application.
  • Tap the General tab.
  • Tap Backup and reset.
  • Tap Factory reset data.
  • Tap Reset device.
  • Follow the rest of the prompts.

Your device will wipe itself and return its settings to their original states. When the process is complete, log into the same Google account that you created or logged into originally; your contacts will automatically download. Once that has completed, plug your phone into your computer. When Kies opens, sync your music files to your device.

You have successfully backed up your contacts and music files and wiped your device.

Samsung Note not able to switch on?

Hi! A few day ago, I've noticed that something is wrong with my Note; further, I found that the USB storage shows 11.08 GB / 11.08 GB, which is fully utilized; but I'm pretty sure that I did not install a lot of applications. Instead, most of the applications were installed to the 32 GB SD card, and it is only 40 % occupied. Before I am able to do the back-up, the phone has automatically shutdown last night; and when I switched on the phone, it stayed at the "Samsung" word; and I am not able to turn it on. How could I turn it on to recover the data? Or can I do a soft or Hard Reset on it? How do I perform it? Thanks for your help!

Hi, Is it OK to delete apps from application manager?

My Samsung S4 has been using up my data plan so I have been deleting apps that I don't think I use in Application Manager. The thing is, I don't know if there is anything in there that is important enough to keep to ensure the phone works properly

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

Yes, you should delete apps from the application manager if you don't need them. When your phone's internal memory is full, your Samsung Galaxy S4 starts to function slowly. Uninstalling unnecessary apps is one of the best ways to free up storage.

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

By removing unnecessary apps like games, free apps that you don't use anymore, live wallpapers, and many more similar apps, you can free up space. Uninstalling a game or similar apps won't harm your Samsung GS4. If you accidentally clicked on a system application to uninstall, your phone automatically stops you from doing this (Unless your device is rooted, extra caution if you are).

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

Once you've uninstalled apps, you can also use other methods to free up your phone memory. These include: Deleting photos, messages, music, videos, or clearing your browser history and cache. For example, if you don't know how to clear your browser cache and history, follow the steps below:
