How do I use an SD as default storage on an LG Tribute?

I have an LG Tribute, Sprint, and it's very low on internal memory, so I got a card but I can't figure out how to get apps to download directly to it.

You have to go into each of the apps settings to choose storage options. Now, even though you do this the apps will still be on the original hardware of the phone. So you will need to get an app like CCleaner to regularly clear cache. You also will want to transfer photos and videos that you want to keep to a cloud storage or on your PC. If you use cloud storage from Google or OneDrive, you can access them from the apps once you install them on your phone.

I am not getting downloads to my memory card?

I am using Samsung dual SIM. Model number is GT-S7582. Whatever I am downloading is stored in device memory only and not going to memory card. Memory is 8GB. How to solve my problem

Google and Samsung blocked any apps that are not from Google or Samsung to not be stored on the memory card. Use an app like FrostWire to configure your downloads to the SD card. You can set this up in the Frostwire app settings once you have installed the app.

Can I download applications and other files to my SD card memory?

I cannot install new applications to my mobile through Google play. It has 8 GB internal memory but it is almost full, but it has16 GB free in SD card memory

You have to go into your App Settings and move over the apps that allow you to change their storage. It can be a little tedious but worth it if your memory is that low.

You can change this in your Settings Gear located in apps. Look for the Storage Options and then choose the default storage option to the SD card. You will have to manually move over apps that you have already installed and some may not move to the SD card. Frostwire is another excellent suggestion for managing downloaded media. The link for the app is in the above answers.

Use an app like ES File Explorer to configure where you want installs to go from here on. For past installs like apps, you can go into the General Settings to Applications and move them over to the new SD card. Also, you will want to tap Format SD card before you install anything on the SD card or change the settings to move everything there.

Hi I have a problem I can't set my external memory card as the default one when installing apps from Google play?

I followed your steps but I didn't get the result

still when I try to download an application it says insufficient memory!

With the Marshmallow 6.0 update, you will be allowed to "Adopt SD card" as an option. This means that Google Play will install on internal memory as always but it actually will go to the SD card. You will want to use an app like Frostwire or ES File Manager if your phone is still not recognizing your SD card. If you did not format the SD card, this may be part of your problem. Once you have formatted your SD card, put the phone into Recovery Mode but instead of wipe data, you will choose Wipe Cache Partition. You will not lose any data but it will free up storage.

Go into your applications manager from Settings. Click on apps to move them to the SD card. Some may not give you the option but find ones that do. Clear the cache for each app before you set it to the SD card. Then reboot the phone and try to install the app again from Google Play.

Wipe your Cache Partition. Keep in mind that all of your apps and anything that was stored previous to you setting this up is still in internal memory unless you move it to the SD card within Applications Manager.
