Actually, it is very dangerous to look for a substitute. If you use a relaxer, always use a neutralizing shampoo to bring down your pH level. However, if you end up in a situation where you run out of neutralizing shampoo, then there is a one-time solution that might or might not help you. Shampoo your hair with whatever standard shampoo you can find well enough. Make a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar and 3 parts of water and apply it on your hair for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair and use a conditioner. To avoid further damage, either buy a neutralizing shampoo or contact your nearest beauty salon immediately.
