I had the Emoji with the new update, but they disappeared?

Yesterday or the day before I finally updated my phone. I saw the new Emoji, used them, plus the screen where you 'write' messages. Then my phone spontaneously went back to its old self. I restarted and no change.

This is a common problem after updating. Thankfully it's also very easy to fix. Your phone just needs the latest version of Handcent so that you can start using Emoji again. Uninstall your existing version of the Handcent App, and then follow the links in our guide to install the most recent version of Handcent on your Android phone. Then you'll be able to access and use Emoji characters again.

Emoji not working on phone no matter which app I try?

No matter which app I try including this one, all my Emoji show up as question marks on anyone else phone. Any advice would be helpful. Samsung Galaxy 3S.

When using Handcent, or any other third party messaging app, any Emoji characters you send will not show up on other Android phones unless the users of those phones have the same programs installed. As an alternative to installing a third party SMS app, you can instead use the latest version of Google Hangouts to send messages. By doing that, you will be able to send Google Emoji characters to others, letting you add the Google set of emoticons to your text messages.

My Emoji quit working yesterday?

They were working just fine until yesterday. Now it gives me an error message that the recipient only sees question marks. I have gone to the settings to change the input to "automatic" as I did when I first installed the emoji app, but now there is no option to set it to "automatic". I have tried everything. I even uninstalled the app and tried using the new Emoji that Android came out with (I HATE that keyboard), but it won't work either. I really like my Emoji!!!!
