I need to hide some photos and videos. Is there a way to reset the private mode or another way to hide stuff?
Try this one its works Go to Apps Manager in settings
Swipe left until your at "All" apps
Go down to > Fingerprints
> Clear Cache, > Clear data, > Clear defaults, then > Force Stop "you may get a message saying all accounts, contents, etc. will be deleted it click okay"
Go to Finger Scanner in settings
Register or re-register your Fingerprint and you can change your backup password

There is in fact a way to reset your Samsung Galaxy S5's Private Mode; however, this requires performing a Factory Reset, which wipes all of your phone's data. To make sure that you don't lose any of your important files, follow these simple steps to back your Samsung Galaxy S5's data up to your computer:
- 2Plug your Samsung Galaxy S5 into your computer.
- 3Follow the onscreen instructions on your computer.
- 4Click the Backup/reset tab.
- 5Click Data backup.
Now, perform a factory reset by following the steps in this great VisiHow how-to article. Once the Factory Reset is done, your phone's Private Mode password will be reset. Be sure to write down the password you choose so you don't have to perform a Factory Reset again. To get your data back from Samsung Kies 3, simply plug your phone back into your computer and follow the steps above, but in the last step click Restore instead of Data backup.
If you do not want to perform a Factory Reset on your Samsung Galaxy S5, there are a few other ways you can hide your data. First, you can backup the files to Samsung Kies 3 on your computer and delete them from your device. You can also use any of the applications listed below to hide your files directly on your device so no one else can find them:

Can I access files without turning private mode on. Maybe when synced to my computer?
I have had my Galaxy 5S for almost a month. I set up private mode with my fingerprint and have logged in and out of private mode many times without incident. For the past five days or so, it keeps saying that my fingerprint is accepted, but then a popup informs me that 'Private mode failed to enable. Please try again.' I can't reset the password because you have to have private mode on to do that. Is there any way to retrieve the files before I reset my device?
Follow the steps in the above answer. You will have to hard reset the phone in order to use the Private Mode again but you can use Kies to back up the files as explained above. If the Knox Counter Security was tripped on the phone this will be the reason that you are seeing the message despite having the correct passwords.
I can not remember my password for My Note4 for the private mode?
How do I change it without resetting the phone?
To change the privacy Mode Password on a Note4 you will have to hard reset the phone. There is not a way to retrieve the password so the next time, make sure you pic one that you regularly use in daily life and write it down somewhere.
I have a Note4, I don't know the private password?
I want to unhide some of my files
Follow the steps in the top answer and transfer the files using Kies. You will then have to hard reset the phone if you want to continue using private mode which means that you will lose any files not backed up on your phone.

Fingerprint scanner and private mode does work?
My fingerprint scanner has stopped working since a few days. The phone does not let me change the password settings from fingerprint to pattern or no password, nor does it enable private mode. However, the touch screen and phone work perfectly OK otherwise. I believe it to be some software problem. please help
It is because something you did tripped the Knox Counter Security System on the phone. Your regular stuff will work but the only way to use private mode again will be to hard reset your phone. This means that all the apps and other things like contacts will be lost unless you back them up first using Kies.

Retrieve password for privacy setting on Samsung 5?
I set a password for the privacy mode on Samsung 5 - all my documents are encoded - and I forgot the password completely. Is there any way to retrieve my documents without resetting to factory settings. I have tried: Tried various passwords. I think it was caused by: Not thinking before I tried an application
You can try to transfer them to the PC using Kies. But you will have to hard reset the phone to use a new password which means that anything you have on the phone that was not transferred will be lost.
