I forgot my Samsung Galaxy S5's alternate password?
I'm locked out of my phone. I'm just trying to go back to my password, not my alternate password.
Your Samsung Galaxy S5 will ask specifically for an alternate password if you've set up the fingerprint scanner functionality. The alternate password is there to make it easy for you to get back into your phone if the fingerprint scanner stops working or just doesn't recognize your fingerprint. This code was set by you when you registered your fingerprint with your device. Unfortunately, if you don't remember your fingerprint scanner's alternate password, you will need to perform a Factory Reset on your device to remove the fingerprint lock and the alternate password lock. This process will delete all of your phone's data, including the locks; however, it's the only way you can remove the locks on your phone so you can use it again. To learn how to perform a proper Factory Reset on your Samsung Galaxy S5, read through and follow the steps in this great VisiHow article. After your phone completes the reset, be sure to set your device up with a password that you can remember so you don't have to perform a Factory Reset in the future if you forget your Samsung Galaxy S5's password again.
