We've created a comprehensive guide on Car Mode, which will teach you everything you need about how to use Car mode on the Samsung Galaxy S5. It will work for every carrier, except for AT&T.

If you're using an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5, your phone doesn't have Samsung's Driving Mode installed. You will have to use AT&T's DriveMode application which is installed on your phone. If you're not using an AT&T device, do the following:

Samsung has changed Drive Mode to Car Mode on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and newer devices. To access it, just swipe down to open the Notifications Panel, and you'll see a steering wheel icon, which is used for Car Mode. You can tap it to turn the application on or off. On my Galaxy S5, I cannot find driving mode. I have navigated to text to speech options but there is no driving mode to switch on. Is there another place to do this?

Is there another place to do this

Driving Mode is no longer a part of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and newer devices. Instead, it has been changed to Car Mode, and features a much more advanced set of functions. However, turning it on and off can easily be done from the Notifications Panel. You can just drag it down, and tap the icon for 'Car Mode'. For more advanced instructions, you can visit the article linked in the first question of this Q&A, where you'll find in-depth descriptions of all Car Mode features.

I have that Hi Galaxy feature on my Samsung through Verizon and its annoying?

How can I remove it?

I have Sync in my car and would just rather use that.

The 'Hi Galaxy' feature is most likely Car Mode, which you may have accidentally enabled from the Notifications Panel. Just drag down the Notifications Panel and tap 'Car Mode' to turn it on or off. You can also disable Apps, as described in the answer in this Q&A article: how to delete default apps on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Want to have Galaxy S5 driving mode or hands free mode automatically shut off when I turn off car and thus, Bluetooth signal from car ends?

I like that the Galaxy S5 can automatically go into hands free and car mode when it detects the Bluetooth signal from my car. I would like for it to automatically exit either hands free or car mode when the Bluetooth signal is no longer there, i.e. I shut the engine off.

Your Samsung Galaxy S5 should automatically exit Car Mode / Hands Free Mode / Drive Mode when you turn off your radio, or the Bluetooth signal is no longer there. There is a function for controlling the Bluetooth feature, which is located under the Car Mode menu. Just tap the three dots on the 'Hi Galaxy' menu, and you'll be able to access these settings. For more in depth instructions, please read our advanced guide on using Car Mode, which is linked in the first question of this Q&A article.

How to configure "Driving Mode" on Samsung Galaxy S6 or turn OFF Driving mode?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, and for some time when I'm in the car (Acura TL'14) it started "Driving Mode" with default app of Milk Music.

But after some time (or may be after installing some app on the phone) the default app changed to my local songs folder. As I had only one "Over the Horizon" from Samsung it started to run this song every time it connects to the car Bluetooth or after my phone call in the car, it's very-very annoying! I was looking for how to reconfigure the driving mode back to Milk music or any other, but couldn't find anything. Called few times to Samsung and Verizon help lines but they were not able to fix this problem as well. So I ended up only with deleting that single song, so at least it's not running it over and over, but it means that next time I download a new song it will run again in cycle. Any suggestions?

I no longer have the Drive mode on my Galaxy S4! because AT&T removed it?

I'm now more likely to pick up my phone while driving to read or text. What idiots decided that this was a better option than letting my phone read out messages to me and allow me to respond without picking up my phone and never taking my eyes off the road. I truly believe this will cause more accidents! What are my options?
