Hello. I am trying to recover files from a microSD card?

This microSD card was located in my Android smart phone. I have tested my adapter and it works fine with another microSD, it recognizes it when I plug it in, the problem however is the microSD, after around a year of working properly, all of a sudden it does not want to be readable in any device that I've tried. The SD card itself is not of importance to me, so formatting it is not my primary goal, my hope is just to retrieve the files contained on this previously functional microSD!
