I am unable to connect my S7 Edge to my Gear S2 watch?
S2 Watch worked and works perfectly with S5 mini, on upgrading to S7 edge process hangs at step 7 above. I get a message that the download has failed followed by a second message claiming that I need to check whether the phone is compatible with the watch or download the latest app? If I revert to the S5 mini, it connects without a hitch. I have rebooted both devices, wiped the cache partition on the S7 edge, reinstalled the Samsung Gear app, soft booted and hard booted the S2 watch. Same version of Samsung Gear app installed on both S5 mini and S7 not sure what else to try. Web research seems to indicate that the issue may be related to the Samsung Accessory service but the version available in the play store is not compatible with the S7 edge. I'm not sure what else I can try short of ditching the new phone. I can progress to step 7 of the Connect gear S2 to S7 section but then experience the difficulties described above. I have tried: Reboot both devices, wiped cache on phone, un-installed, installed Gear app on phone, checked for updates, unpaired devices - re-paired devices. I think it was caused by: Jurisdiction of access (Gibraltar?) Samsung apps not available for S7 edge?
