I've put my new SIM into my old phone and it won't work, why not?

My phone is a Samsung CH@t 350, the SIM that was originally in it was a Tesco mobile pay as you go, the new SIM I put in is a Tesco mobile contract SIM. It keeps alerting me to insert a SIM card, when I already have. I've tried cleaning the golden prongs with a dry soft cloth yet it's still not working.

If you've cleaned your SIM cards and SIM card slot gold contacts on your Samsung CH@t 350, and you're using a SIM card from the same network as before, you will need to go to Tesco nearest store and get a replacement SIM card. The SIM card you currently have is very likely defective, and replacing the SIM card with a new one will very likely take care of your issue. If not, the customer service representatives inside the store will be able to troubleshoot your issue -- including finding out whether or not your phone is properly set up for the new plan that you have with Tesco. Since you have already paid for the plan and the SIM card, the replacement SIM card will be free. However, if your phone has a hardware malfunction, you may have to pay to get it replaced or repaired.

No, you can head to nearest SIM provider center and tell them, they will either cut your SIM to fit (if new slot is smaller), or issue another SIM for you to fit your new mobile

How do I make my phone read SIM card?

My GS4 won't read my SIM card. I have another phone and it reads the card good. The phone knows it has a SIM card, because the "no SIM card" sign is not appearing on screen, but I can't do anything for the network to work

Does the SIM card only work with one phone once activated?

I have a net10 SIM card in my AT&T S4 that has been activated in that phone. That phone broke and I have ordered another AT&T S4. Can I use the old SIM in the new phone or do I need to purchase a new SIM card?

I have an old phone that is just a basic phone. It's a Nokia. I bought a new phone that has updated everything. Going on the internet. I can't get on with the new phone too complicated. Put the SIM card back into my old phone. Comes up no SIM card. Will this be because it's been updated?

I have an old Nokia phone which is very basic. I bought a new phone and the SIM card has been updated to include the internet and a lot of other things. I can't get on with the new phone as it is too complicated for me. I put the SIM card back into the old phone. Says no SIM. Is this because the card has been updated?
