I'm having problems with my Samsung Galaxy S4 connecting to WiFi at certain places in my workplace?

Didn't have this problem with the same phone before. It says the signal is strong and other people are connecting but I get the message that says it's searching for signal or failed to obtain signal.

Some Galaxy S4 owners have found that forgetting the network and then reconnecting to it fixes this problem. To forget a WiFi network, do the following:

  • Open your Settings app.
  • Tap the Connections tab.
  • Tap WiFi.
  • Tap the name of the network you're trying to connect to.
  • Tap Forget.
  • Reconnect to the network.

  • Ensure that the date, time zone, and time on your Android device is correct. You can set these by accessing the home screen > "Apps" > "Settings" > "Date and Time".
  • Reboot both your smartphone and router.
  • Tap on the home network in the WiFi section of S4. Tap on "Forget network". Then, reconnect to the network.
  • Walk closer to the router or remove interfering electronic devices.
  • Go to "Apps" > "Settings" > "WiFi" > the menu button > "Advanced". Disable "Smart network switch".
  • Double-check that you have the WPA2-PSK mode on the router.
  • In the "Wireless MAC settings" section of your router, accessible via a browser, remove your smartphone from the black-list, add it to the white-list, or disable filtering.
  • Try changing the wireless channel on router.
  • Switch between "802.11 b/g/n (mixed mode)" and "802.11n only" in the wireless settings of your router.
  • On your S4, tap and hold the home network name in the WiFi section (home > "Apps" > "Settings" > "WiFi"). Select "Modify network config". Check "Show advanced options". Check "Static" in the IP settings drop-down menu. Type any static address like "192.168.192.66". Tap on "Save" and apply the new settings.
  • Delete the DHCP reservation on your router.
  • Reset the router and set it up again.

Forget network option on Samsung S4 is missing. How do I forgot a WiFi network if the option no longer displays?

Samsung Galaxy S4 - when I press and hold the network I want to forget - (cause I can't stay connected to my home WiFi - the phone keeps bumping off almost immediately after its connected) - so I've been working on the various solutions (like turning off power save, etc.) Now trying to "forget" home network as last step - but my "forget network" options is missing from all displayed networks when I press and hold. Only "connect" options displays. How do I forgot the network if the option is missing?
