Pomelo peelings will indeed repel mosquitoes. While there haven't been any scientific studies about why pomelo peelings repel mosquitos, but plenty of anecdotal evidence is on the internet. To make the repellent, simply peel a pomelo and place the peelings around the item from which you'd like to repel mosquitoes; alternatively, if you want to repel mosquitoes from yourself, you can wipe the peelings on your arms, neck, and legs.
