How to unlock steering wheel without a key?

Need to move car four stalls over but no key

Ad

There is no way to do this without the ignition key. If you attempt to force the wheel manually or use a screwdriver or any other kind of implement to force the wheel, you will break the steering mechanism. The steering lock was invented to prevent theft of the car, so it is best to have your vehicle towed to your dealer along with proof that you own the vehicle and your registration and have a new key cut for the vehicle or have the lock replaced.

Can a tower tow my car if it is in the car and unable to roll?

We lost our push button key and need to tow our car to the dealership for a new key and programming. Would a tower be able to pull our car out of the garage even if there's no way to start it up?

Yes, a tow truck could still remove the car out of your driveway.
