How to unlock an Android locked out device with no internet connection?

A friend of mine entered the wrong unlock pattern a number of times on my jellybean Android phone which was not connected to data as well as WiFi. This resulted in a locked out device which is asking me my Google account credentials. Even though I remember my account details my phone is not accepting them and calling them incorrect, maybe because without any connection it is unable to verify them. Can you please help

The only possible solution is to perform a Hard Reset. You will need to do the following:

NOTE: This will delete all apps and data

  • turn off device
  • press and hold the following:

power button

volume button (up/down or both)

home button (if any)

or look for a reset hole or button

  • release buttons when you see the logo
  • choose recovery mode (some will already be in the recovery mode menu)
  • choose wipe data/Factory Reset
  • choose yes--delete user data
  • device will reboot or will ask you to reboot

After too many incorrect pattern attempts it provides you with the option to recover using the email address registered to the account. If this option is not available then unfortunately there is no way for you unlock your phone without data loss. The only other option you have if unable to recover the pattern, is to do a Factory Reset of the device.

I have a jelly bean Android, it says too many attempts for password, no internet connection, PC won't recognize it, it won't reset to factory settings?

Hi Daniel can you help when I press power and vol - , it gives a Chinese list.

power and vol + give a poorly looking Android

reset button does not respond to anything

This will depend on your specific device being that the first screen you are seeing in Chinese is the reset option list. The reason why it is in Chinese is that the device was made in China or for a person who knows the Chinese language.

This usually occurs when you have an error on your device but it is still possible to perform the Hard Reset but I am going to need to know the name of the device so that I will be able to show you where to click regardless of the different language to help you reboot your device. After resetting your device I can show you where to go in order to be able to change the language back to English.

How to uninstall my appzlock app?

Hi, I locked all the apps of my phone with appzlock and whenever I open an app it launches appzlock, that asks for a password, when I enter the password it disappears for like 0.4 seconds and then again it asks for the password, this process is repeated again and again. and also I had 'TalkBack' option activated in settings, so I am not getting enough time to enter pass and uninstall appzlock. Please help me.... I have tried: I can't open any app and not even settings as it launches appzlock permission every 0.4 seconds or so.... and also my TalkBack option is on so I could not try anything so far..... I think it was caused by: An app whose name is appzlock

Two fingers tap the screen and go into Settings to disable TalkBack. Then you can enter the appzlock password or go into Applications Manager, clear the cache from the app and uninstall it. This VisiHow article titled Disable TalkBack (Talk Back) mode in Samsung Galaxy Note II (Note 2) is for the Note2 but the method works for all Galaxy devices.

I forgot my password and I can't open it already even though I press the reset button, power key + volume up + home key?

There was a warning sign which states, a custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. if you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key...but when pressing, word downloading appears but it never works. I have tried: Reset key, power key + volume up / down key + home button. it never works so far. I think it was caused by: A custom OS?

Was this helpful? Yes | No

Even with a Custom OS, the reset instructions are the same. Remove the battery, then proceed into the hard reset process. You did not list what device you are trying to hard reset but they are not all the same in terms of how to hard reset so search your device name and hard reset to get the specific instructions.

Was this helpful? Yes | No

Even with a Custom OS, you should still get a Forgot Password option so that you can use your Google Account to unlock the device. It may take several attempts before you see the option.
