What and how is the easiest way to transfer entire data from Samsung Galaxy S4 to HP laptop?

I have heard using a USB cord that is all I know. My phone is saying I'm close to running out of storage. Thanks!

First of all, download and install the USB driver.

  • If you need just to back up data, then the easiest method is to download and install Smart Switch onto your Hewlett-Packard laptop. Connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 to your laptop with the USB cable. In Smart Switch, Click on "Backup". Verify that everything has been checked and click "Confirm". The data will be backed up.
    • If your device is not updated, you may need to use Kies. In Kies, just click "Backup & Restore". Verify that everything has been checked and click "Backup".

  • If you need to move data from the phone, then the easiest method would be just to connect your S5 to your computer with a USB cable. Then, pull down the notification panel from the tap on S5. Then, tap on "Connected as a media device". Tap on "Media device (MTP)". Then, on your laptop, just right-click the folders with music, pictures, or photographs and click "Cut". Then, navigate to a folder on your computer and click "Paste". This will move the files and folders, freeing up some space.
