How can I successfully install apps on my iPhone 3G?

I've tried everything to install apps on my iPhone but it usually fails. I don't know if the problem is on my device or on the cable that I use.

The iPhone 3G is Apple's second-oldest iPhone. Many, many application developers have stopped supporting the iPhone 3G because it's so old; the architecture for the device is no longer used by Apple, nor is its screen size or resolution. Because of this, most developers have abandoned the phone. When you go to download an application, check the application's information and description. The developer will list which iDevices are supported. If the list includes the iPhone 3G, you will be able to download and install the application. However, if the list does not include the iPhone 3G, you will not be able to download and install that particular application -- this is why your phone is telling you that the installation has failed. However, if the application you're trying to install says iPhone 3G but your phone is unable to complete the installation process, you may have a broken cord (if you're using iTunes) or your phone may be starting to malfunction. Try a new cord; if it works, then keep using the new cord. If it doesn't work, your phone may be starting to malfunction. You can get it repaired, of course, but the cost of getting the phone fixed may be better spent on a newer phone.

iPod Classic - how to install games once acquired?

Since iTunes discontinued the click wheel games from the App Store, there is a way to obtain the games, however, getting them actually installed onto the device (160 GB iPod Classic circa 2009) is information that I'm not finding readily on the internet. Any suggestions?. I have tried: YouTube; Yahoo searches, Wikihow, others for information.. I think it was caused by: iTunes no longer supports the classic. I'm wondering if the files can be dragged & dropped from something like iExplorer or another "iDevice" file viewing program, but, that's just dropping the file - INSTALLING it so it works seems like it would take some kind of installer program. I run Mac OSX 10.10.5 and do have a partition for Windows 7, but, prefer to run Mac if possible.
