How to speed up the buffering of YouTube without any software?
My video stops and does not continue because of buffering.
YouTube is a great video sharing site, but the most annoying part of it has always been video buffering. There are some easy steps you can take to make YouTube's buffering quicker without using any additional software.
- Change your video's resolution. Higher-resolution videos take longer to load than lower-resolution ones. To change your videos' resolution, click the gear icon in the lower right-hand corner of the YouTube video player. Then, click the quality box. The qualities/resolutions on the bottom of the list are lower and will load faster. Progress down the list until you find the highest quality that loads without any buffering.
- Make sure you aren't downloading anything else when you're trying to load a YouTube video. If you have a slow internet speed, you won't be able to download a file and load a YouTube video.
- Make sure that your family or friends aren't also trying to load videos or download files at the same time that you want to watch a YouTube video. This will also cause buffering.
If these steps don't help, you can follow the steps in the great VisiHow article below to find out about other methods you can try to get your YouTube videos to load without buffering. Alternatively, you can call your internet service provider (ISP) to upgrade your internet speed, which will give you faster load times for your YouTube videos, as well.
- If you have problems with any of these steps, ask a question for more help, or post in the comments section below.
