This will only work if your Laptop comes with an HDMI port. Your Galaxy S3 can output the screen using the MHL HDMI adapter found here:

If you have a Samsung Laptop. You can simply use an AllShare feature for Samsung devices to view phone contents from one device or the other. If you have a Laptop that is a Non-Samsung brand Laptop, you need to download an application from Samsung App store called Phone Screen Sharing or even using a third party equipment. Screen mirroring to Xbox 360? Like games and stuff?

I am playing a game on my S3 and I am wondering if I can put the screen on my Xbox 360?

Unfortunately, you cannot share your Samsung Galaxy S3 screen or be mirrored in your Xbox 360. Xbox is not capable of mirroring such contents from a mobile phone screen to a larger screen. If you wanted to mirror your phone screen to a larger screen, you can simply use an MHL converter.

If you wanted to share you Samsung S3 screen or mirrored it. There are three ways on how you can do it, such as:

Mirroring using Samsung Smart View or AllShare.

This is much applicable to Samsung to Samsung brand TV and phone only. These applications can help you to view your phone content to a larger screen to enjoy watching photos, movies, presentation and any other that you are doing on the phone.

Using am MHL Converter.

This would be another piece of hardware that you can purchase. This is a very converter that you can install that connects to your phone then to your TV. This is a very simple adapter that you can purchase from any electronic store and be able to mirror contents from phone to TV.

Using a third party adapter.

There are a lot of adapters that are in the market for you to mirror your phone to TV. However, you need to check its compatibility if the product is compatible with your phone. Normally, it uses a miracast application for you to do so.

Remember that the Xbox360 is a gaming console and it is not a mirroring adapter.

No, the screen mirror image that is compatible with the Xbox 360 will only allow you to be able to mirror the image of a game that is played through Xbox 360. I myself have tried what you are suggesting and never got anywhere at this time. Instead, you can in fact mirror your phones image to the Xbox 1 being that they have the new software to support the mirroring.

If you have recently updated your operating system version, it could be the culprit behind it. I suggest doing a Factory Reset and re-installing all the applications manually (through the Play Store). Do the following to reset the phone:

  • dial: *2767*3855#
  • your phone will now reset
  • once reset is complete, set up your Play Store again and download all the apps and try screen mirroring again

Can I mirror my phone screen on my computer monitor?

Can you help me? Do I need to install something on my computer for it to be compatible with the phone?

This will depend on the hardware built into your phone and whether it's capable to mirror out to your PC monitor. If your phone has HDMI out capabilities, you can use micro/mini USB to HDMI adapter and connect to your monitor (also having an HDMI port).

If your phone is a Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Note2/Note2 series, you will be able to connect to an HDMI capable monitor using Samsung's own MHL to HDMI adapter, seen here:

After connecting S3 and LG smart TV, I have a black screen!

After connecting S3 and LG smart TV, I have a black screen

The screen share feature works well with Samsung Galaxy S3 and LG smart TV. If connecting these two devices display a black screen then you have to check on how you set up the feature. First off, the screen share feature works on an OS of at least Android 4.1.2 which has the All Share Cast settings in place. You will most probably have to update the app especially when you use it for the first time. Also, you need a USB dongle and a new generation Smart TV that is compatible with or supports All Share Cast.

The screen share feature works like a gem on LG TVs because of the Miracast /Direct WiFi connection. To activate the screen share feature, you just have to go to Settings >> activate or enable the Miracast/Wi-Di option.

Once this option has been activated, you can now open the All Share Cast on your Samsung Galaxy S3 to search for the connected device or your LG smart TV. You can now accept synchronization and enjoy watching on your LG smart TV.

How can I mirror my Note3 on my laptop using MHL cable?

I have a Toshiba laptop Windows 8 and Note3 mobile. I want to mirror my mobile on my laptop using an MHL cable or any other method. How can I do this?

You will not be able to connect your Note3 to your Toshiba monitor directly, as there are probably only output video ports on your laptop. You will need to root your Note3 by using KingRoot, for example, and install AirDroid on both your laptop and Note3. For more information on how to install AirDroid for both systems and make them work, please refer to this answered question: only steps 1-10 are needed to start mirroring your Note3 screen on your laptop. Then, click "Screenshot" to start mirroring your Note3.
