How to reset my Motorola Droid Turbo?

I have tried to factory reset the phone but it keeps coming back to the "This device has been reset. To continue, sign with a Google Account that was previously synced to this device.". How can I get past this to reuse the phone?. I have tried: Factory reset. I think it was caused by: Don't know password.
