How to reset Samsung S4 with forgotten password and Gmail account

The purpose of locking your Samsung 4's phone's screen is to prevent curious eyes from seeing your data but if you have forgotten your password you could find yourself being unable to access your own device. Usually, you can enter your Gmail account name when the words "Did you forget your password?" or "Forget password?" show up underneath the password field on the log-in page. If this does not work you might need to do a hard reset, which means that all of your personal data is erased and your phone is returned to the default factory settings that were on it when you bought it.

To do a hard reset you remove the battery to power the phone off and then, after waiting thirty seconds, you reinsert the battery. The hold down the Home/Menu, Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously. As you see the phone boot up release the power key only while continuing to hold the other two down.

At this point, the phone will reboot and you will know that it is done when you see a new menu. Select the option of Reboot System and then press the power key to confirm this option. This should result in the phone shutting off and turning on again to look exactly as it did before you bought it and locked it.

Go to Google Accounts Authority or Android Device Manager. Try to unlock your phone through there since you know your Google Account. You can also try a soft reset and see if that give you the option of using your Google Account.

Keep attempting but write down each sequence. You will only have a few possibilities with 2222. You may get an option to log in with your Google Account during these attempts and if you do, use that to gain access. This way you will not have to hard reset your phone.

How could I unlock my phone?

First, do a soft reset and pull your battery and push all around the back of the phone while the battery is removed. Then see if your keyboard works. If you still can't access the Shift Key, access Google Play on your tablet or PC and download the Samsung Keyboard to your Samsung Galaxy S4 remotely.

I need to know how to reset my pin password on my S4?

Hi, It's not an S4 but a Galaxy solid - have forgotten the passcode?

I got directed to the S4 details for unlocking the phone. This is a company phone given out to a staff member and his son put in a passcode and they can't remember it now. I know we could do a hard reset but was wondering if there is a way around it which does not result in clearing the data on the phone

Was this helpful? Yes | No| I need help

As long as their son linked a Google Account to the phone, it can still be recovered. Google Accounts Authority has several ways to gain access to the device. Hopefully, you can access the phone this way. Try using Kies to back up his contacts and data first if you end up having to hard reset the device.
